Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Fanny Kaplan, mother-in-law of George Z. Medalie, at 14 Balfour place, Brooklyn. Mrs. Kaplan died Tuesday morning at Camp Pontusa, Pittsfield, Mass. She is survived by her daughters, Carrie K. Medalie, Ruth Sylvester, Sylvia Wedeen, and a son, Edward I. Kaplan, all of this city.
Mrs. Kaplan’s sudden death came as a shock to Mr. and Mrs. Medalie, who returned from a six weeks’ European tour yesterday morning on the Rex. They learned the news at the pier and proceeded directly to the funeral.
Burial took place at Union Field Cemetery, Jamaica. Dr. Elias Solomon officiated.
