Mr. Eshkol said that Israel had 50 Mirage V jets in storage in France which remain undelivered because of the continued French arms embargo. He disclosed that the French offered to refund the $60 million deposited there by Israel in final payment for the planes, but “we declined because we still hope to get the Mirages.”
