Mrs. Gilner Dies at 75, Served As Personal Secretary of Henrietta Szold

Mrs. Elias Gilner, widow of the late veteran Zionist and founder of the Haganah, pre-state Jewish defense force in Palestine, died today after a long illness in Yonkers, N.Y. She was 75. As a young woman, Mrs. Gilner, who was born in London, went to Palestine shortly after the end of Word War I and became confidential secretary to Henrietta Szold, the founder of Hadassah.
