Municipalities Granted Taxation Rights for Education Budget

Elementary education in Palestine will from now on become the direct concern of the local population working through its municipal or village government. according to an educational ordinance promulgated today by the government.

The ordinance recognizes every municipal or local council as the authority responsible for the public schools in the town or village. The municiaplities are granted the right to impose special education taxes upon the population. to provide buildings and teachers for the schools, etc.
