While Jews are excluded altogether from membership in the labor unions, a new order issued today provided that Germans, too, when joining professional organizations or transferring from a dissolved labor union to the Labor Front, will be carefully watched for traces of non-Aryan descent. They will be forced to sign this declaration: “I declare I am of Aryan descent and my parents and grandparents are not of non-Aryan stock,”

A footnote to the declaration explains that “non-Aryan descent means when either of the parents or grandparents is non-Aryan or belongs to the Jewish religion.”
