N.c.r.a.c. Disassociates Itself from Proposed Suit Against N.Y. City Board of Education

The National Community Relations Advisory Council in a statement issued over the week-end, said that it wishes “to make it clear” that the national Jewish organizations affiliated with it “have no connection” with the proposed suit of former New York City magistrate Joseph Goldstein against the Board of Education. Goldstein earlier threatened a legal suit against the board unless “Oliver Twist” and “The Merchant of Venice”–which he branded as anti-Semitic–were withdrawn from school curricula.
