A large number of workers will be given employment on a new amelioration and drainage activity which is to be carried out shortly on the banks of the River Kishon by the Jewish National Fund. The area is situated near the delta of the river and includes Harbatch, Mejdel and Jadtur, all near Haifa, and runs to about 40,000 dunams (about 8.000 acres). The works on the River Kishon previously announced concern Knefes, Jebata, Tel Tura. etc. south of Nahalal.

This new program provides not only for the work of drainage of the whole area, but also for the supply of water to the settlement within the area. The undertaking will cost about £ 15,000.
