The deportation of all Jews from Germany and Austria to the huge ghetto which the Nazi authorities have established in the city of Bialystok for 250,000 Jews, is urged in the Nazi press as ” the best way of completely solving the entire Jewish problem in the Reich, ” it is reported here today from neutral sources.
The report also discloses that in a number of cities in Eastern Galicia which the Nazi army has regained from the Soviet, the Jews were ordered to establish a “Judenrat,” a Jewish Council, along the same line as was done in Warsaw and in other cities in Nazi-held Poland. Such Jewish Councils are now to be established in the Galician cities of Low, Tarnopol, Drohobycz, Stanislawow and Brody. These Councils will be held responsible by the Nazi authorities for carrying out all the anti-Jewish regulations in their communities.
