A new five-year plan providing for the expenditure of more than 6,500,000 rubles (approximately $1,300,000) for municipal improvements in the Jewish autonomous region of Biro-Bidjan has been put into operation, it was announced here.
At the same time the Jewish physicians in Biro-Bidjan issued an urgent appeal for additional medical books and scientific periodicals, pointing out that previous collection campaigns have netted them only 500 books.
