A new ordinance of the French Government was published today which will enable a large number of French Jews, who were stateless during World War II, to apply for damages for wartime Nazi persecutions.
The ordinance, published in the Official Gazette, permits persons who were not French citizens during the war to apply for reparations on condition they acquired French nationality before July 1960.
