New Haven Launches $45,000 Campaign for United Palestine Appeal

Fifteen thousand dollars were raised at the dinner in honor or Chaim Nachman Bialik and Louis Lipsky, president of the Zionist Organization of America, at the Hotel Garde at which the local campaign for $45,000, this city’s quota in the $5,000,000 United Palestine appeal was launched.

About 300 guests present listened to appeals from several speakers, including Mr. Bialik and Mr. Lipsky.

Mrs. Archibald Silverman, of Providence gave a description of conditions in Palestine.

The mayor welcomed the guests in behalf of the city. Rabbi Leon Spitz acted as toastmaster.

Rabbi Sidney S. Tedesche, of Temple Mishkan Israel and Mr. Archibald Siherman delivered brief addresses.
