The New Lithuanian constitution has not affected the position of minorities groups, it was asserted today by Konstantin Sakenis, president of Parliament, during a lecture on the constitutional changes. While the minorities clauses were dropped, the charter just put into force explicitly guarantees equal rights to all citizens, M. Sakenis declared. Those rights, he said, could not be curbed for religious and racial reasons, and the minorities were free to fulfill their religious duties, develop their press and maintain their schools.
