New Mexico’s House passed a hate crimes bill. The bill, passed March 20 by the state legislature would provide additional prison time to offenders whose crimes are motivated by hatred. The state senate has already passed the measure. The state’s governor, Bill Richardson, has said he would sign the bill into law.
