New research shows that a future pope warned the Vatican of Nazi crimes against the Jews earlier than previously revealed. Israeli researcher Dina Porat claimed that the future Pope John XXIII forwarded an account of Nazi atrocities to the Vatican in 1944, several months before the Vatican claims to have received it, Ha’aretz reports.
