Dr. Lincoln B. Hale, president of Evansville College, Evansville, Ind., has been selected by the Foreign Operations Administration to replace Bruce McDaniel as technical cooperation administrator for Israel. Dr. Hale will probably be sworn in by the end of this week. The appointment was learned of today and confirmed by government sources.
McDaniel will remain in Israel until June in order to familiarize Dr. Hale with United States technical operations in that country. An ordained minister of the Congregational Protestant Church, Hale in younger days served as a YMCA secretary and as director of the Thessalonica Agricultural and Industrial Institute at Salonika, Greece. He served as a private in the American expeditionary forces during World War II.
