The capture of 11 terrorists after a fierce gun-battle in a caved area of the Jordan valley disclosed the existence of a hither to unknown guerrilla group, security sources disclosed today. It also marked the largest infiltration of terrorists from Jordan since the guerrillas were thrown out of that country by King Hussein’s army last summer. One terrorist was killed in the gun-battle. There were no Israeli casualties.
The new terrorist group calls itself Salah A Din, after the Moslem leader who drove the Crusaders out of Palestine seven centuries ago. Their mission was to carry out acts of sabotage in the Nablus and Ramallah districts. The captured terrorists carried weapons and explosives.
