New U. N. Truce Chief Arrives in Jerusalem; Replaces Riley

Major General Vajn Bennike, new United Nations truce chief in Palestine, arrived here today and immediately went into conference with Lieutenant General William E. Riley, whom he is replacing.

Later, the Danish General met with other members of his truce supervision staff. It was reported that he would shortly leave Jerusalem for a tour of the capitals of the other Middle Eastern states.
