Two bills aimed at wiping out housing discrimination in the Nation’s capital have been introduced in the House of Representatives by Democratic Congressman William Fitts Ryan, of New York.

One bill, patterned after New York City’s Sharkey-Brown-Isaacs law, would prohibit discrimination by owners or agents who sell or rent housing. A companion measure would revoke the license of any realtor engaging in discriminatory housing practices.
