New Yorkers contributed over $9,000,000 to the United Jewish Appeal for Refugees. Overseas Needs and Palestine last year, it was announced last night by Monroe Goldwater, chairman of the 1944 campaign, at the second annual Founders Dinner of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, held at the Hotel Commodore. About 300 leaders of industries, trades and communities met to hear a report of 1944 campaign activities and to rededicate themselves to the task of assisting refugees both here and abroad.
