The State Jewish Theater of Warsaw will tour West Germany this year. The ensemble, the only one outside the Soviet Union to use Yiddish, was reformed after 1968 when its director, Ida Kaminska, and several actors left Poland as a result of the government’s anti-Semitic campaign against Israel and Zionism. The ensemble will play in Frankfurt, Offenbach, Bonn, Essen, Cologne, Hamburg, Stuttgart and several other cities.
