Nineteen graduating students today ordained rabbis at the 59th commencement exercises of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. In addition, degrees and diplomas were conferred upon graduates of the Teachers Institute, the Seminary College of Jewish Studies and the Seminary School of Jewish Studies.
Rear Admiral Lewis L. Strauss, Liaison Advisor to President Eisenhower on atomic energy matters and former member of the Atomic Energy Commission, delivered the principal address. The 50th anniversary of the Seminary’s library was also marked at the exercises.
