No Jews will be inducted into the army during the Rosh Hashana holidays, it was announced today by Brig. Gen. Lewis Hershey, National Director of Selective Service. Gen. Hershey has ordered all State Selective Service Directors to refrain from inducting Jews from September 21 to 25, Rosh Hashanah, and from September 30 to October 1, Yom Kippur.
