“I believe I am speaking the mind of every member of the League of Nations in offering the victims of the recent events in Palestine our sympathy and assurances to continue our policy,” declared Rainsay MacDonald, Prime Minister of Great Britain, in his address at the opening session of the Council of the League of Nations here today.
“When the idea of the mandate was installed, it was clearly understood that the nations undertook an international responsibility. This responsibility will be carried out and I give you the assurance that the situation in Palestine is now well in hand.
“There is no racial conflict in Palestine. There is no conflict at all. I ask you not to make a Jewish-Arab issue, but to condemn the incidents. It is uprising and disorder and whatever (Continued on Page 8)
