North American rabbinical students from a range of denominations formed a new group that criticizes Israel’s recent military actions. In a recent letter to major Jewish organizational leaders in the United States, the group condemned Palestinian suicide bombings and other attacks on Israeli civilians, but asked the American Jewish community to acknowledge “the suffering that Israel has caused the Palestinian people during the 35-year occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.”
