Our attention has been called to an advertisement in a journal called Mutual Professional News, and distributed among physicians and dentists.
“Come to Troutdale—in Maine reads the advertisement. “A vacation paradise for lovers of fishing,” and so forth. Then follows this bait: “Exclusively a Gentile clientele.”
Strange enough, on the very same page appears a quotation from John Galsworthy which reads:
“Sport, which still keeps the flag of idealism flying, is perhaps the most saving grace in the world at the moment, with its spirit of rules kept, and regard for the adversary.”
The Professional Mutual News, which is distributed under the Mutual Professional Plan, undoubtedly reaches a number of Jewish readers to whom the above quoted advertisement must be offensive.
This particular “paradise for lovers of fishing” is for a Gentile clientele only. Apparently the owners of the Troutdale Cabins do not believe that the sport of fishing should keep the flag of idealism flying. Or is it possible that the owners of the Troutdale “paradise” have authoritative information that the trout in Troutdale prefer to be caught only by a Gentile clientele?
Poor fish.
NAZI CONTAGION
