Officials of the Finance Ministry and the Bank of Israel said today that there was no substance to press reports from Paris alleging that large sums of counterfeit U.S. dollars were in circulation in Israel. Police here confirmed the officials’ contention that the story attributed to two un-named Jews, was simply an attempt to undermine Israel’s good name.
