Erich Ollenhauer, leader of the German Social Democratic Party, winding up a visit to Israel today, said that the time was ripe for establishment of normal relations between Germany and Israel. He said there are discussions within the German Government about the date for establishment of diplomatic relations with Israel. He declined to say whether the Israel Government had already requested this.
