One Israeli Killed, One Injured when Tractor Hits Mine in Western Negev

One Israeli was killed and another seriously injured yesterday afternoon when the tractor they were driving hit a mine near Kibbutz Kisufim in the western Negev. The dead man was identified as Menahem Harpaz, 24, a member of the kibbutz. One of the injured was identified as Raphael Shitrit, a volunteer from France who was staying at the settlement. His condition was reported as serious this morning. Kisufim is near the Gaza Strip and it is believed that the mine was laid by terrorists from the Strip.
