BRITISH AND FRENCH STATESMEN WERE REPORTED TODAY TO HAVE SECRETLY DISCUSSED AT GENEVA RECENTLY THE POSSIBILITY OF OPENING SYRIA AND LEBANON, BOTH OF WHICH ARE UNDER FRENCH CONTROL, TO JEWISH IMMIGRATION.

PUBLISHING THE REPORT, THE STAR DECLARES: ” FRANCE’S POSITION IS STILL UNDEFINED. EVEN IF FAVORABLE, IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE HOW THE ARRANGEMENT WOULD SATISFY THE CONCEPTION OF A REALLY JEWISH NATIONAL HOME, AS THE JEWISH IMMIGRANTS WOULD BE OUTSIDE THE BORDERS OF THE JEWISH STATE.”
