The Ort Campaign for Industrial Reconstruction, which is seeking to raise $1,000,000 in the United States for the rehabilitation of declassed Jews of Eastern Europe, will be formally opened Sunday night with a dinner at the Hotel Biltmore. Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, wife of the Governor, will be a guest and speaker. Mark Eisner, chairman of the New York City Committee, will preside. Howard S. Cullman, Commissioner of the Port Authority of New York, national chairman of the campaign, will open the meeting. A thousand guests are expected to attend.
Lieutenant-Governor Herbert H. Lehman will be a speaker.
Professor Stephen Pierce Duggan, director of the Institute of International Education, will speak on the work of the Ort. B. Charney Vladeck, manager of the “Daily Forward,” will speak on the People’s Tool Campaign, of which he is chairman.
