Orthodox Demonstrations Dispersed in Jerusalem, Policeman Injured

Police yesterday afternoon dispersed two demonstrations by religious Jews protesting the violation of the Sabbath. For a short while the police detained about 20 of the demonstrators, but later they were all released on bail.

During the clash between police and demonstrators one policeman suffered a broken arm and was hospitalized and several of the demonstrators were beaten, One of the detainees had a British passport and another had a South African passport.
