Oscar S. Straus, former Ambassador to Turkey, was 74 years old on Dec. 23. His birthday was celebrated quietly at his residence, 5 West Seventy-sixth Street, New York, by an informal gathering of his relatives and intimate friends during the afternoon and a family dinner last night. Congratulatory messages were received by Mr. Straus during the day from many parts of the world. He is now enjoying very good health, having recovered from the serious operation of last Fall.
