Queen Elizabeth was the principal guest at the annual gala of the Belgian Friends of Yout. Aliyah here this week in the Theatre de la Monnaie. The Queen is senior patroness of the function, which was attended by Israel Minister and Mrs. Joseph Ariel, as well as by the Ambassadors of India, Argentina and Luxembourg, and the Ministers of Turkey and Denmark.
This year’s gala was a presentation of the Darius Milhaud opera, “David.” A unique feature was a raffle, in which one of the items was a painting by Queen Elizabeth, which she had donated to aid the work of Youth Aliyah.
