A united appeal, issued today by the Chief Rabbi of the Ashkenazic community, Dr. A. J. Kook, and Rabbi Jacob Meir, Chief Rabbi of the Sephardic community, urges all Palestine Jewry to join the Kenesseth Israel, the unified community provided for in the Palestine Communities Ordinance.
Previously Rabbi Meir had opposed the Kenesseth Israel, advocating separate Orthodox communities.
