In view of stubborn opposition by Palestine Jews and Arabs to the proposed legislative council for the Holy Land, its formation may be delayed for some time, London newspapers predicted today.
Commenting on the expected arrival of High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope in London early next week, the press declared that his stay in th# capital will be much longer than had been expected. It was pointed out the Colonial Office is faced with extremely important problems in the Zionist demand for increased immigration to Palestine and the combined Arab-Jewish opposition to the proposed legislative council. The High Commissioner’s presence would be essential in settling those problems, the press stated.
