A DEFICIT OF £62,000 (ABOUT $310,000) FOR THE PAST FISCAL YEAR WAS REPORTED TODAY BY THE PALESTINE GOVERNMENT. THE DEFICIT WAS LIQUIDATED FROM THE TREASURY SURPLUS.

ESTIMATED INCOME FOR THE YEAR 1937-38 IS £5,014,909, AND ESTIMATED EXPENDITURES £5,077,169, INCLUDING £819,000 FOR POLICE AND PRISONS, £187,000 FOR THE TRANSJORDAN FRONTIER FORCE AND £351,250 FOR DEFENCE.
