Government confirmation of reports that troops have been flown by plane from Egypt to reinforce the British forces here could not be obtained yesterday.
An official of the Government press office said he was “unable to confirm the report on the Cairo troop movement,” adding that he believed troops have not yet been brought over, but are ready in case of necessity.
