Air raid sirens may be used to give warning of outbreaks in all towns of Palestine, under a defence emergency order gazetted today. When the sirens are sounded, all vehicles must halt, and can move again only when the “all clear” is given.

The return to Palestine of the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem was demanded today by the Moslem Brotherhood in Cairo in a memorandum submitted to King Farouk. The Egyptian monarch was asked to appeal to the French Government to release the ex-Mufti and to intervene with the British Government to secure permission for the ex-Mufti to return to Jerusalem.
