Unverified reports of renewed Nazi massacres in the ghettos of Poland which have reached here during the last few days through neutral sources today prompted the central committee of the New Zionist Organization here to send a cable to Gon. Sikorski, Polish Premier, urging him to do everything he can “to rescue Polish Jewry”.
“The Polish Government will do everything possible for the Jews in Poland,” was the immediate reply from Gen. Sikorski.
The Polish Government-in-Exile is now planning the appointment of a special minister for the Middle East with headquarters either in Palestine or in Cairo, it was learned here today. The functions of the new envoy will include taking care of refugees from Poland now scattered all the way from Persia to Palestine.
