Palestine Jews Concerned at Delay in Issuance of Current Immigration Quota

April 6, 1944
See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

Jewish leaders here are concerned at the failure of the Palestine Administration to issue the immigration schedule for the three-month period beginning April 1. The usual procedure heretofore has been for the administration to notify the Jewish Agency in advance of the number of certificates that would be made available to it. Whether the delay has any connection with the fact that the White Paper ban on further Jewish immigration – with the exception of 20,000 refugees–is now in effect, is not known.
