Palestine’s Jews-who comprise one-third of the country’s population-contribute three-fourths of the government’s revenue, according to a report for the fiscal year 1942-43 made public today.
The report reveals that the government collected in taxes during the period under review 2,365,000 pounds, of which 1,755,000 was paid by Jews, 386,000 by Arabs and 224,000 by members of other communities.
