The arrival in Palestine of Dr. Joseph Schwartz, J.D.C. representative, is acclaimed today in Davar, largest Hebrew newspaper in the country.

“We hope that this visit opens a new chapter of cooperation between the world’s largest Jewish relief organization and the Jews in Palestine,” the paper writes.

Mr. Shabbatai Levy, Jewish mayor of Haifa, announced that in order to insure public Sabbath observance in the Jewish district of Haifa, traffic in the Herzl street zone will be diverted to other roads on Saturdays.
