Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat said the struggle over eastern Jerusalem is a “life-and-death” battle. Arafat, who also said the Palestinians are running out of patience with Israel, spoke at a special session of the Palestinian legislative council in Ramallah. He spoke a week after the Israeli Cabinet approved a plan to expand Jerusalem’s municipal boundaries.
