Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat told President Clinton when they met at the White House last month that his successor would be Mahmoud Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, according to the authoritative London-based newsletter, Foreign Report. A founding member of Arafat’s Fatah movement in Kuwait, Abu Mazen is now Arafat’s second-in-command.
