Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat said he would continue to press for a U.N. peacekeeping force in the West Bank and Gaza Strip even though President Clinton rejected the idea. Arafat said he had asked for U.N. peacekeepers more than a week ago. Clinton told a Chicago radio station that Israel’s opposition to such a force means “it can’t happen.”
