Palestinian gunmen killed an Israeli driving in the West Bank.
Ido Zoldan, a 29-year-old Israeli from the Shavei Shomron settlement, was killed in a drive-by shooting late Monday. A group linked to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction claimed responsibility.
Zoldan, an evacuee from Homesh, is survived by a wife and two young children. His father, Nachman, is a major contractor in West Bank Jewish settlements.
The attack spurred right-wing Israeli calls on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to abandon his upcoming peace conference with Abbas in Annapolis, Md.
