Palestinian President Yasser Arafat reportedly agreed last month to appoint a prime minister to run day-to-day Palestinian affairs. According to unnamed officials and diplomats cited by Reuters on Thursday, Arafat gave his consent in a letter to British Prime Minister Tony Blair before Blair met with President Bush last month.
