Energetic measures to check fifth column activities in the Americas commanded the attention of delegates to the Pan-American conference here today.

Proposals studied by the peace maintenance committee, headed by Secretary of State Cordell Hull, provided for an investigation of diplomatic and consular agents and possible restriction of their immunity privileges.

It was understood that proposals for closer immigration control and sharper surveillance of aliens within American nations also were under consideration.
