Following the increasing number of refugees from Germany arriving here, a relief committee headed by Professor Painleve, a former Premier, has been formed here. Other members are Baron Edmond de Rothschild, Rabbi Israel Levi, Chief Rabbi of France, and N. Justin Godard, a former Minister.

The committee is drawing up plans for the relief of the refugees and for the provision of employment wherever possible.
