Paris’ Sorbonne University is holding a conference in honor of the late French Jewish politician who defended Dreyfus. The three-day conference marks the 100th anniversary of the death of Bernard Lazare, whose pamphlets and writings on the case of Alfred Dreyfus inspired Theodore Herzl and appeared a full three years before Emile Zola’s famous article “J’accuse.”
